SODAE Casa

“In a nature area between Amsterdam, Amstelveen and Ouderkerk aan de Amstel, lies the Kostverlorenkade 1; an island measuring 1200m2. Here, VMX built a 500m2 house. The starting point for the concept was the perception of the landscape, the distant high buildings of the Zuid As and the Rembrandt Tower as well as the view of the aeroplanes travelling to and from Schiphol.”

  1. It looks amazing, but would I want to live there? Not really, for me it’s to unpersonal, borderline on clinical. Perhaps it’s the swede in me speaking on that behalf, I’m used to red wooden houses on the countryside.

    Great insipration nontheless!

  2. It looks like it could take off at any moment, fly and land in a new spot. Very nice style though.

  3. That’s fantastic! Pinterest is a haven for inspirational architecture and fantasy homes now. I’m forever browsing on there.

Where do you even start getting something like this design? Just ring your architect and say something like “Hey, I’ve got this idea for a really crazy home…”? Wonder how receptive they’d be to that!

  4. Cool house… but I don’t think I could take a bath peacefully. Curtains please. 🙂
