Card reverse

Black foil stamping on the reverse adds that little bit extra.

If you’re after a print quote give Alan at Dayfold a shout. Top man.

  1. David, just when I finally think I have a grasp on how I want my own cards to look, you go and mess it all up by doing something like this that completely blows my mind. Those cards look very, very nice!

I think you can pull something like that off because you have such a strong reputation, but do you see that working for someone just beginning, like myself? I am never quite sure how much information should be included on a business card.

    1. It doesn’t matter how much experience you have, Fred. What do you want your card to do? When I give mine to people it’s so they know my web address. They can contact me through the site.

I hope your transition’s going well.

  2. Your new cards are stunning David! I love your care and attention to the detail. Your choice of board and foil stamping create a stunning finish. I also really like how your cards tie in beautifully with your blog and portfolio. As Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe said; “less is more”. Really great job!

    1. Thanks very much, Todd. Stellar finishing at the printers.

I love it David! How do you decide which colour (s) to use in your business card?

Keep us posted on your brand image!

    1. I match it to the site, Daniel. Not much to it, really.

Thanks a lot. Now I have to go home and watch American Psycho.

  5. Love your cards! I’ve been following your blog and I’m impressed with your work.
Have started freelancing for design projects and your blog has been of great help for advice and direction. Thanks!

  6. One of the most beautiful business cards I have ever seen. Do you know if I can order from the US?

    1. Thanks, Jonathan. I’ve had Dayfold ship to other European countries so I don’t think it’ll be a problem.

  7. Long time no see Mr Airey. Loving the foil stamp. I’ve just completed some foil designs for letterpress, and foil looks superb in the hand!

    1. Cheers, Mr K. I just saw your rebrand. I hope that’s working out nicely.

      1. I’m re-re-rebranding everything at the moment, down to the gravatar 🙂

  8. I’m such a preacher of ‘less is more’ when it comes to design. Nice! Love the texture too.

  9. As a student, I tend to be hesitant about the investment into a quality card, but the cards you share are so timeless I’m honestly considering it now (still in love with Hoban Cards!). Thanks for sharing & inspiring as always.

  10. Hey David, loved the cards and the new look of the website (it’s been a while since I was last here), congratulations!

Your work was the inspiration for me to become a brand designer, about 8 years ago. And you are still an example to follow.

    So, thank you!

  11. These are lovely. Less is definitely more.

  12. Hoban are also great, Vicky. Good luck with the studies.

    Thanks folks.

  13. Hi David,

Can I ask which typeface you’re using?

    Many thanks!

Absolutely bang on example of Less Is More…..

  15. Nice! Like they say, there is beauty in simplicity.

  16. Absolutely great work, a card you look at with pleasure…

    Thanks for sharing

  17. I am a big fan of less is more when it comes to a business card. I keep my cards incredibly simple, but powerful. I have a silk laminate on a 48pt card stock. Black with email, name, and services. I’ve been taken so much more seriously by clients and prospective clients all because of simplicity.

  18. “That’s just a simple design. Just a few minutes, and I can do the same!” This is what some people tell me about my designs, for they’re not “intricate” enough for them. Amazing design David, this is what is called professionally simple! Neat and clean without a single extra part. Love your designs.
